Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is one of Asia's major aviation hubs and is a destination in itself. It is located at the top of the southern corridor of Peninsular Malaysia, bordering the states of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. It is situated in the Sepang district, approximately 50 km from the capital city, Kuala Lumpur.


KLIA is a unique airport because it has within its boundaries all that is needed for business, entertainment and relaxation. The airport is part and parcel of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) where placement of high technology industries are being actively pursued.


KLIA is surrounded by four main cities -Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Seremban and Malacca. The airport is a catchment area and offers exciting opportunities for businesses. Every effort has been made to create a homely airport with a serene environment. 
The Main Terminal Building area was designed using the concept of 'Airport in the forest, forest in the airport', in which it is surrounded by green space. This was done with the co-operation of the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia. An entire section of rain forest was transplanted from the jungle and placed in the Satellite Building.


For car racing enthusiasts, a Formula One racetrack is located near the airport and the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix is scheduled in March every year. The track also caters for an array of other activities throughtout the year, including motorcycle and rally racing. 
For a lived-in environment, the 80-room Airside Transit Hotel is located in the Satellite Building itself and provides a perfect respite for the travel-weary transit passengers. KLIA's commitment to promote environment responsibility for all local and foreign travellers was recognised by Green Globe, making it the first and only airport in the world to receive Green Globe 21 certificate in year 2004 and onwards.
KLIA was thrice voted as the World's Best Airport (15-25 million passengers per annum) in the 2005 AETRA awards, 2006 ACI-ASQ awards and 2007 ACI-ASQ awards.

LCCT (Low Cost Carriage Terminal)

Malaysia’s first Low Cost Carriage Terminal, popularly known as LCCT works 24 hours. It helps you in getting an easy access to Star Shuttle, Aerobus, KLIA Transit, or Express Rail Link (ERL), LDP highway, airport liner, luggage storage, money exchange, and much more. LCCT has got a huge campus charged up with a well organized team to cater you the best services of your needs.

The terminal has everything from pay phones, Taxi Service, Auto Teller Machines (ATM) to Hotel Reservation, Car Rental & Taxi Services and Prayer Rooms. Reaching LCCT is also very easy. A short drive through ELITE highway or LDP highway will lead you to your destination. Well if you are unknown then you have road signs to aid you, which will lead you to the LCCT. All you have to do is to just follow them. If you are not interested in driving yourself then you have got an option of renting a car or talking a taxi using KTM Komuter.

LCCT is also rich in parking space. It has an open air car park which is fully gated and it’s a 24-hour operational facility, and has 1350 open air car parking bays next to it. Parking assistance can also be requested by calling the helpline number (603)-8777 696.

Let’s say if you are at LCCT and you have to wait for too long then you have chairs and a good lobby to roam. Well if the delay is extended then LCCT offers you with hotels which you can consider for more comfortable stay as well. Food is easily accessible like you are at home and this is not it. You can have a bite round the clock too.

As a tourist on your Malaysia trip you can easily rely on the information provided to you by the staff at the LCCT as they are very cooperative and helpful. Leaving the airport precincts, you may continue you travel to the next location and you will not require a transit visa.

Transportation - Electric Train Service (ETS)

Starting from 12 August 2010, Kereta Tanah Melayu Berhad ( KTMB) had launched the Electric Train Service (ETS) which provide a safer, greener, comfortable, and faster travel for those who want to travel from Ipoh to Seremban. This train set is made by Hyundai Rotem with Mitsubishi design 5 sets of ETS worth RM 240 million with 350 seat each set.
The ETS have a maximun operation speed of 140km/h. However, it's design allow ETS speed up until 160km/h.


With a total length of 138m, the electric train service can easily load about 350 peoples. The ETS divide into 2 types of train. One, is the express train and the other is transit train. The differences between this two type train is express train just only stop at 6 stations that is Ipoh- Batu Gajah- Kampar- Tanjung Malim- Kuala Lumpur and KL Sentral between the route Ipoh - KL Sentral. On the other hand, transit train stop at 11stations that is Ipoh- Batu Gajah- Kampar- Tapah Road- Sungkai- Slimriver- Behrang- Tanjung Malim- Rawang- Kuala Lumpur and KL Sentral.


Now, the ETS's fare from Ipoh to KL Sentral just only need RM 30. Within 2hours, passengers from Ipoh who taking the express train can reach KL Sentral but for those who taking the transit train need about 2 hours and 5 minutes.
