Transportation - Electric Train Service (ETS)

Starting from 12 August 2010, Kereta Tanah Melayu Berhad ( KTMB) had launched the Electric Train Service (ETS) which provide a safer, greener, comfortable, and faster travel for those who want to travel from Ipoh to Seremban. This train set is made by Hyundai Rotem with Mitsubishi design 5 sets of ETS worth RM 240 million with 350 seat each set.
The ETS have a maximun operation speed of 140km/h. However, it's design allow ETS speed up until 160km/h.


With a total length of 138m, the electric train service can easily load about 350 peoples. The ETS divide into 2 types of train. One, is the express train and the other is transit train. The differences between this two type train is express train just only stop at 6 stations that is Ipoh- Batu Gajah- Kampar- Tanjung Malim- Kuala Lumpur and KL Sentral between the route Ipoh - KL Sentral. On the other hand, transit train stop at 11stations that is Ipoh- Batu Gajah- Kampar- Tapah Road- Sungkai- Slimriver- Behrang- Tanjung Malim- Rawang- Kuala Lumpur and KL Sentral.


Now, the ETS's fare from Ipoh to KL Sentral just only need RM 30. Within 2hours, passengers from Ipoh who taking the express train can reach KL Sentral but for those who taking the transit train need about 2 hours and 5 minutes.
